Synopsis

In the high-octane 1994 film The Getaway, directed by Roger Donaldson, we are thrust into the murky world of crime and betrayal through the eyes of Doc McCoy, a seasoned bank robber played by Alec Baldwin. After his criminal partners abandon him during a heist gone wrong, Doc finds himself serving time in prison. With a chance for freedom dangling like a carrot, he reaches out to his wealthy associate, Jack Benyon (James Woods), to orchestrate his release. As Doc navigates this treacherous new alliance, the film explores themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the relentless pursuit of freedom, all underscored by its gritty action and pulse-pounding adventure elements.
